Written in conversation with the theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer on discipleship and his legacy, this volume addresses the problem of Christian identity from a West African context.

Musa further takes Bonhoeffer seriously in the context of post-apartheid South Africa, in which he studied under scholars passionate about reading and interpreting the life and works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Just as in Germany, where Bonhoeffer arose as a Christian resistance voice and figure, so in South Africa he was used as a key scholar and example that helped the South African people to overcome the apartheid regime and help to give shape to the meaning of Christianity.
